Spoilers Ahead: Stop Reading Now if you do not want spoilers for the latest edition of The Walking Dead comic series.
It is that time of the month again when I review the latest issue of The Walking Dead. This month is titled #128: After All This Time, She Should Be More Prepared. The issue starts off with Negan asking punk Carl if he still wants to kill him, in which Carl replies that he still does. Then we get to read some awesome colorful language from Negan which he is so famous for. Next, we see some of the inner workings of Alexandria such as the apprenticeships that were discussed previously in older issues. This issue shows them making bread, which is a huge step that signifies they are not just surviving, they are thriving. We learn how Magna and her group survived so long on their own. Carl is seen craving statues out of wood hoping one day that his dad would send him to Hillltop to apprentice as a blacksmith. And later in the issue, Rick does tell Carl that he will go to Hilltop and apprentice like he wanted which makes Carl extremely ecstatic. That little conversation is like every other parent conversation when they realize that their child is all grown up and needs to leave the nest. The only zombie action we get to see this issue is when two men, Ken and another, ride (on horses) into uncharted territory and get surprised by a group of walkers. Both make it out alive, but one horse was not so lucky (poor horse). The issue ends with Magna and her crew talking about Alexandria saying “if something seems too good to be true… it usually is. These people are hiding something… and we’re going to find it”. What could Rick and the others be possibly hiding…. Could it be Negan? Or something else?
