Last weekend myself and my friend Michelle packed our bags and left our husbands and kids behind and headed for Birmingham, England for the MCM Birmingham Comic Con. This was my first comic con and it most definitely won't be my last. It was possibly the best weekend I've ever had. There were 35,000 people attending over the weekend as well as special guests from Breaking Bad, Red Dwarf, Star Wars and many others from film and TV.
There were plenty of people in cosplay and they looked amazing. I was really impressed with the amount of effort and detail that went into the home made costumes, even the store brought costumes look fantastic. On the Saturday I was rather shy about asking for photos, but Sunday I was like screw it, you look amazing I want a photo! Everyone was very friendly and enjoyed having their photo taken, and I'm not surprised if I looked as good as them I'd want my photo taken too. My next con I will be joining in with the cosplay and go as Jill Valentine from Resident Evil.
Me and Thor. I absolutely love Thor, he is one of my favourites and to see this guy dressed as Thor and to be fair he was a great look a like, it sent me and Michelle into a frenzy of Thor jokes. One of my favourites being Thorgasim along with the many many Hammer jokes which are too rude to print but im sure you get the idea.
Michelle and Dave the minion ( I think its Dave).
Wolverine vs the Mask
Robot wars had a small arena there, they only had the small robots there due to size and public safety. However considering they were the small robots they are vicious little things, I could only imagine how much destruction a full size robot could do.
Inside the theatre, which was a inflatable dome shape ( later known as the huge condom by some of the special guests) was where the special guests sat and answered questions from the audience. We both wanted to see Tom Felton who played Malfoy in Harry Potter, but he was that hot we couldn't get anywhere near the place, I was so disappointed. However I got to see RJ Mitte who played Walt Jr in Breaking Bad, we actually turned up 45 minutes early and watched Colin Ford from Under The Dome, just so we can get seats for RJ.
We really had a great time, I was like a kid in a candy shop. All week I've been buzzing still hyper and excited. Can't wait for the next one.
