PopChix.com's first Chix contributor, Lady Eh's interests in Pop Culture are as varied as thoes in her daily life - check out her spotlight below!
PopchiX: What's the story behind your gamertag?
Lady Eh: That's a fairly long story! When I was into posting fiction online I used the pen name Lady Anarchy. When I picked up an Xbox 360 in 2007 I figured I would use that as my gamertag as well. When I discovered that name was taken I was at a loss as to what to use. I really had my heart set on that, and being anal I didn't want to add extra numbers or letters to it. I wanted to be the "original". I often abbreviated it to "Lady A" but as that was also taken, the Canadian in me realized "Eh" was a perfect substitution! So now I'm Lady Eh! Those on live who aren't Canadian often pronounce it wrong and call me "Lady E," slightly annoying, but oh well!
PopchiX: Heh, that sounds rather familiar, almost like I've used that exact rational before. Oh wait... So where is home?
Lady Eh: Sydney, Nova Scotia.
PopchiX: What do you do for a living?
Lady Eh: I'm a student at my local University. I also have a part time job doing monotonous paper work for people who make a lot more money than I do.
PopchiX: Without the ones who do the paperwork, the world would probably stop spinning. Catch phrase?
Lady Eh: By endurance we conquer. Is that a catch phrase? More of a quote, I guess, but it's what I live (and game) by.
PopchiX: Mine's 'Got Mrow?' - I think yours has a better ring to it. What's the worst or weirdest job you've ever had?
Lady Eh: This past summer I worked at a local cemetery on a student grant. I cut grass, did basic maintenance, and yes, I buried people. ![]()
PopchiX: That sounds morbidly fascinating. Do you own anything pink? If so what is it?
Lady Eh: I very much dislike that color as a solid. I own some stuff with pink in it, but nothing totally pink. Yuck! :D
PopchiX: What is the one item you cannot do without on a daily basis?
Lady Eh: My laptop. Surprisingly, I'd be OK without a cellphone, but if I didn't have good internet access with all my bookmarks I'd be so lost.
PopchiX: Isn't that the truth for us all. Ok, embarrassing question time! Have you ever peed your pants after age 8?
Lady Eh: A couple of times I've laughed so hard that I've peed, like, a teensy little bit, but who hasn't!!?? If anyone denies that they're lying!! ![]()
PopchiX: What is your dress style? (Posh, Sporty, Baby, Scary, Ginger - oh wait!)
Lady Eh: LOL! Sporty all the way (She was also my favorite Spice Girl!) I dress up on rare occasions but I'm usually rocking jeans and sneakers.
PopchiX: Worst habit?
Lady Eh: I grind my teeth. I guess that's not really a habit, but it's incredibly annoying (and painful!) I have to wear a bite plate when I sleep.
PopchiX: Tattoos or piercing?
Lady Eh: I have two tattoos, one on my ankle and one above my right shoulder blade. I also have my ears pierced.
PopchiX: Best pet?
Lady Eh: My current cat, Waffles. She's my first cat (my parents are dog lovers) and I love her to bits!
PopchiX: What would you like to change about yourself?
Lady Eh: I wish I had straight hair. It's curly so I've been keeping it short lately out of convenience.
PopchiX: Random fact about yourself?
Lady Eh: I don't like when my food touches on my plate. Like my turkey and peas can't touch my mashed potatoes, or when gravy gets on my cranberry sauce... It's incredibly weird.
PopchiX: Just like how you don't like random letters or numbers touching your gamertag! Is there a specific band or song that just makes everything better?
Lady Eh: Eminem. That might sound strange to a lot of people but I love his lyrics and style and some of it just hits home. Other times it just makes you laugh.
PopchiX: Hot celeb you'd like to be stranded on a desert island with?
Lady Eh: I can only pick one?! Paul Walker.
PopchiX: Only one per customer, have to leave some for the other girls! What's your favorite TV show?
Lady Eh: Family Guy. I've seen every episode and own every season and special to date.
PopchiX: And keeping in the same line of questioning, favourite cartoon character?
Lady Eh: Stewie Griffin from Family Guy. "Victory shall be mine!!"
PopchiX: What super power would you like to have?
Lady Eh: I want to be able to read minds. I'm nosy like that.
PopchiX: As long as you could have a filter to 'turn off' unwanted voices. I don't even want to think of the possible migraines. What book/comic/graphic novel was the last you read?
Lady Eh: Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol. It was horrible.
PopchiX: That seemed to be Trixie's opinion when she reviewed it - I must be the only person who actually liked it...Do you cook and if so what is your favorite meal to make?
Lady Eh: I love making any kind of pasta.
PopchiX: Pasta is yummy! How spicey do you like your food?
Lady Eh: I put Frank's hot sauce on almost everything, including plain potato chips.
PopchiX: Dream vacation locale?
Lady Eh: Anywhere that has a beach that I can lay on all day (and night) and just relax.
PopchiX: Give me sun, sand, and a stack of good books and I'm pretty much set! Next big thing in gaming?
Lady Eh: Games on demand, where all new releases will be available to download instead of having to go out and purchase or rent them. It's convenient and it's better for the environment! :D
PopchiX: I'll let you handle the impending riots of video game store clerks. What's the first video game you ever played?
Lady Eh: Duck Hunt on the NES.
PopchiX: What do you think is the best game of all time?
Lady Eh: DUCK HUNT. Without a doubt. I worshiped that game as a child.
PopchiX: If you could be any video game character, who would it be?
Lady Eh: Soap McTavish - Modern Warfare 2. He kicks butt and he has a wicked accent and stylish hair. I'm not sure how the Mohawk would look on me but I could totally rock the Scottish brogue! :D
PopchiX: What's your gaming set-up like?
Lady Eh: It's pretty simple. I have a '32 Toshiba LCD. 360 hooked up via HDMI. It's nothing elaborate, but in a small apartment I like to keep it clean.
PopchiX: Which consoles do you own/have at your house?
Lady Eh: We have 2 Xbox 360s (My boyfriend FINALLY GOT HIS OWN!) and a Wii. Looking to add a PS3 in the near future.
PopchiX: Greatest Xbox LIVE moment?
Lady Eh: Placing first for the first time in Call of Duty 4. I was incredibly proud of myself because I worked so hard to get good enough to place in the top three.
PopchiX: Good for you! We've had to purchase multiple consoles as well (And multiple TV's. And multiple copies of games) What is the Xbox 360 Achievement that was hardest to get?
Lady Eh: I beat Modern Warfare 2 on Veteran within the week it came out. That was incredibly frustrating. I don't usually complete difficulty based achievements.
PopchiX: Is it about the Story or the Gamerscore?
Lady Eh: The story. I like seeing my gamerscore go up, but it's more about how I've earned those achievements as opposed to what they're worth. I haven't achieved a lot of hard achievements, but it's taken a lot of dedication to get some of them.
PopchiX: What's the funniest thing you've ever heard on Xbox LIVE?
Lady Eh: During a match on Call of Duty 4, some dude with a heavy Southern accent said "Damn marty-dom gets me every time!" Ever since I've been calling martyrdom Marty-Dom!
PopchiX: Thanks for sharing a little bit about yourself with us! Can't wait to see what aspect of Pop Culture you tackle next!
