From what i've seen theres alot of female gamers on the forums with different tastes in music.
I listen to alsorts of different genres but my favourite ones are metal and industrial.
Just love music with lots of guitars and synths..different sounds for different moods =D
I pretty much listen to everything, but my favorite genres of music are rock, metal, punk, ska, reggae and classic rock..and of course you can't forget 80's new wave.
Alternative Rock, J-Pop, 60s-80s with some 40s and 50s mixed in (Think CCR, Big Band, Jimmy Buffet, etc.) J-Pop and um whatever Weird Al, Jonathan Coulton, Oxhorn and Phrog801 (otherwise known as Nym) are.
I have heard various parts of several operas, but I've yet to actually go to one. And I like some classical music. I also like anything with a fantasy theme to it, think the theme from Zelda or fairy folk songs. XD
I also like girly up-beat songs that make you just feel like acting silly/dancing.
However my favorites are: laid back surfer rock (Jack Johnson, G. Love, Meiko), hard rock (Metallica, Eagles of Death Metal, Rise Against, Nine Inch Nails) and the alt hard rock (Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs etc.)

What she said. Except for half of the hard rock stuff. Replace it with poppy chick music and you have me. My iPod looks like I have a mental condition. Playing it on Random is funny. It just went from Patsy Cline to Siouxsie and the Banshees to Beck to PJ Harvey to Billy Idol to OutKast.
Music listening covers classical to some jazz and blues, and rock (Dokken, Lynch Mob, ACDC, Joan Jett, Melissa Etheridge), the grunge era (Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains), and metal (Arch Enemy, Children of Bodom, In Flames, Rammstein).
My favorite Genre is Classical! It's the foundation for so much we hear today.
I agree it is! Also the great thing about classical music is that it fits into almost every music genre. It sounds fantastic in metal! Check out this metal song by Epica "Cry for the moon" It's a symphonic metal band which is a mixture between clean operatic vocals and ruff agressive vocals, mixed with heavy guitar riffs and light strings.
They are bands that are inspired by old video game music from consoles like the NES and Megadrive.
They use alot of samples from old games in there songs or make similar ones of their own.
Reggae and alternative rock. I'm down for some classical sometimes when I'm in the mood. I really like anything though, my tastes tend to be pretty diverse musically, I can find enjoyment in all genres except I'm gonna say eighties rock and bluegrass.
