For anyone who still has a copy of Dungeon Siege, and loves adventure RPG's (the gameplay is nothing like Dungeon Siege) you should really check out The Ultima 6 Project (http://www.u6project.com/), which is a fabulous remake of Ultima VI: The False Prophet. They finally released version 1.0, after being in development since 2001! The project was huge, and completed entirely by volunteers. Oh, and it's FREE! There's a pretty good review of it here: http://asiangirlgamer.com/1328/ultima-vi-project-a-fine-remake-to-fuel-our-nostalgia/
I've been playing this game since Beta 2 was released earlier this year, and I love it! The world is HUGE (especially if you include the dungeons, which are vast), and incredibly detailed. The game is fairly non-linear, and in addition to the main plot, there are tons of side quests, and if you just feel like exploring, the world is full of hidden areas, caves, dungeons, and bandit/pirate camps, among other things. I have restarted the game about 6 times (to update to newer versions as they fixed bugs in the betas), and every time I took a slightly different approach and explored new areas, or did different quests.. and there are STILL a ton of areas that I haven't even visited and dungeons I have never set foot in. This game is very immersive, and addictive!
