I will start by introducing myself I suppose.. My name is Jennie (GT: Chabelis), I'm 32 years old and I've been gaming ever since I was a child. I live in sunny Melbourne, Australia with my black and white cyclopean cat (he had one of his eyes removed last year) "Deuce" (name was adopted from being the second black and white cat I've had :p).
I've been playing console and PC games ever since I was introduced to gaming by my parents (who now hate themselves for it.. haha) by buying me an Atari 2600. For the past 6 years I've been playing PS3, Wii, XBox360 and PC games. 5 of those years I spent playing a PvP focused MMO RPG called "Dark Age of Camelot (I also played WoW and WAR a little as well), but I got more busy with work and my everyday life to dedicate the amount of time sink it demands so I dropped back to mostly playing XBox.
The past few weeks I've been playing Saints Row, now that I've almost completed the entire thing (activities and all), I'm close to looking for something else to start on.
Besides my gaming life, I also enjoy shopping, traveling, going to the movies, listening to music and reading.
I like almost all movies and music, but I do tend to steer away from the A-typical soppy chick flick movies and music I tend to prefer hard rock, metal, industrial and alternative/punk.
I found PC after trying to find how to join GC for quite some time then finally coming to the realization they're no longer taking applicants. Anyway, that's me.. I hope to get to know some of you more and don't be shy about sending me for a chat if you're bored. :p
My DH and I actually played DAoC for quite a while. That was a while ago, though.. ahhh, those were the days . As far as MMORPG's go, we're currently playing WoW when we can. I know what you mean about the time needed for those games though, which is why we're not playing nearly as much as we used to.
Icetkitty: I mostly play RPG's and MMO's, I've played almost every kind of genre however.. even RTS games (even over LAN), but I keep coming back to RPG's in the end. Rather than listing a bunch of different genres, feel free to take a look at my playfire collection (which is just a snippet of things I've bothered updating). (=
Liora: I really didn't think anyone here would actually get what I meant if I said DAoC, let alone find someone that actually played it! lol What server did you play on? I've been keeping my 2 accounts semi active for a long time now but after a recent patch, I just don't think I'm going to get time to update my current templates anymore so idk, maybe I'll redeem my free 10 days every few months to pay my rent but I doubt I'll be going back now, I still have friends that play and still troll the VN boards a bit, but that's all really. Couldn't really get into WoW, I never really knew anyone there that played in my timezone so I got a pally to level 70 and just didn't bother after that.
Rosa: lol.. my dad doesn't care that much but my mum has much the same reaction.. "Are you ever going to grow up? Those games are for children".
Nice to meet you! I've only been gaming since February 2009 and the XBox 360 is my first console. I played the Sims2 for about a year before that, but I don't really consider it gaming. It's always nice to meet female gamers who know their way around a controller.
Welcome, I'm new too so we can be new together. I know what you mean about MMO's. I'm currently playing FFXI and before that I was into WoW, LotR, and PSO. Oy what a list... lol. I had to learn, especially with WoW when to call it quits. Felt like an addiction if you ask me.
Thanks guys (=

We used to play on Pellinor if I remember correctly, but that was ages ago . We started DAoC after playing Everquest for a while, and a bunch of friends joined us, so it was fun. When we quit, my DH and I each had 2 level 50's (that was the max level at the time.. not sure if that's changed) and a bunch of alts, but some time after the Trials of Atlantis expansion, we ended up switching to FFXI. We had lots of fun in DAoC, though I think a friend of ours still plays, but I'm not sure which server.
DAoC is Dark Age of Camelot, a MMORPG that is still fairly popular despite its age. I never got into that one myself, I can't recall why. I did pay EQ for several years and WoW, which I still play technically, and right now I'm giving EQ2 another shot. MMORPGs are where I do most of my gaming these days.
Thanks guys (=

Small world, my original server was Pellinor as well, I ended up levelling 18 level 50's (holy crap I just counted my chimp, I was thinking it was only 10 or so), I got my main (a champion - Chabelis) to realm rank 11 and then just kinda stopped after that.
There is only 1 server left now, all others have been merged into the one and they're merging the European servers as well. It's a shame but the game has been steadily losing ground ever since EA merged with Mythic.
Kitty: As Aziyade said "DAoC" stands for "Dark Age of Camelot" it's a (mostly) PvP based MMO RPG, it was reasonably popular back in the day (it's over 10 years old now afaik), but now with declining playerbase it's starting to slow down a little. All servers have now been merged into 1 and many of the remaining community are fairly close knit now just continuing to play until EA eventually find that it's no longer viable keeping the servers up.
PRINC3SS: I tried out both LoTRO and WoW, I think I liked LoTRO more but none of my DAoC friends will play it with me! They're all PvP elitists I tell ya..
Rosa: Tell them you probably spend less time gaming than what most people do watching TV, after I've said that to my mum she generally shuts up.. lol
Everyone else: Thank you so much for your warm welcomes! I already like it here!
Wow.. it is great to read what everyone is into... i had some friends try to get me into WoW... sigh.. was a lot of work and time.. and i didnt like it was sometime like a pick up place.. but it was fun!
I love my shooter games and i have been trying out FF13.... I have to ask... Has anyone finished VP TIP at all.. (i know.. not exactly a shooter).. lol..
