My name is Dina and my gaming history is embarrassingly long; my first console was a ColecoVision set that included pink and blue plastic guns for the shooting game. A few years later we did graduate to the Atari 2600 which provided my kid brother, cousins and friends with years of devoted service. I have clear and happy memories of playing the text Adventure game on our 286 PC as well as Kings Quest II. I started playing D&D way back when the books were stapled together and the D4 could do real damage if you were unfortunate enough to step on one.

I do have other interests, I make jewelry, read (mostly fantasy but also science fiction, history, biographies and occasionally books related to biology) and I love to cook.

My presence here is Odessa's fault. I wanted to get that out right away so you know who to blame. I'd tell you how I old I am but Odessa might kill me since we've known each other since we were sophomores at high school. I was born and raised in Los Angeles and I currently live in Maryland and I'm happily married to "The Kraut." I can't imagine that there's anything more you may wish to know about me, but if there is, you only need to ask. smile

*pounces* It's about time! Spam folder isn't ALWAYS just spam, ya know. wink

It's good to see you here. There's a great group of gals to hang out with and hopefully get you to kick 'the Kraut' off of the 360 so you can play some more. It only gets better....

Oh god I loved those old games. I have fairly fond memories of waiting for my cousins to load up games on the Commodore 64.. and those old text adventure games.. lol!

Oh and I sell jewellery, so we already have something in common other than gaming..!

Welcome, I'm new too so we get to sit in the "newbie" lounge for a little while eating cookies and sipping on hot cocoa. cheese

Welcome! Its nice to find another King's Quest player! I loved those games, we had an Atari growing up and our first PC was a Texas Instruments. Ah, memories. smile

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! Ahh, the Commodore 64, I remember it well. We spent hours at my friend's house playing Monkey Island. He would always do funny voices for all the pirates you had to fight.

Generally G-mail handles spam pretty well, it doesn't typically kick forum confirmations to the spam folder, so I wasn't expecting to happen this time.

Incidentally, my gamer tag is also Aziyade, not that I'm on that often, as Odessa pointed out. wink

Hi, and welcome to popchix! I'm fairly new as well, but I guess i've been around long enough to be kicked out of the newbie loung, lol *grabs a couple of cookies on the way out*

You didn't say your age, but I can guess you're about the same age as I am smile. I didn't have a ColecoVision or Atari, but my friends had them, and I drooled longingly over them. When I started babysitting, I started planning how I was going to buy my first computer: I was going to use an old TV as a monitor, and a TAPE RECORDER as a storage medium... that probably gives you an idea of how old I am, lol. Some of my fondest gaming memories are from those days, sitting and playing games with friends.

Yeppers, that sounds about right. Tape recorders, LPs, 45's and Big Wheels. :D
