I made one but I am trying to decide whether or not to pre-order the game

Well my guy and I did decide to pre-order it because even though we aren't super stoked only kind of we realized there was not much else coming out we wanted (aside from new vegas and live stuff).

But I pre-ordered it online and guess what I didn't get? A redemption code. Totally lame, there should be a way for me to prove I ordered it (like with my online confirmation code) or something so I can import my villager. I am kind of upset.

The stores didn't get any codes either. I've been checking every five days at our store here at the mall. They have yet to get any.

I hate paying $60 for a game....ugh xbox stop trying to make me buy new! I'm only barely above minimum wage!

You'd better not move to Australia then, new games generally start from $80-$100..

Yeah really. I paid $130 for DA: O when it first came out, it wasn't cheaper anywhere else.. good thing I love that game.

Not all retailers are participating, you have to check before you pre-order if you want a code.

Found this site that explains a bit: http://lionhead.com/blogs/fable_2_development/archive/2010/08/12/so-you-want-to-pre-order.aspx Unfortunately there is no list about stores in the US, but UK is at least on there.

The store I ordered it from is, they even have it advertised as one of the places. They didn't have any though they keep saying (I've bugged them a few times) that we'll get it in the mail.

Maybe they'll have them when I pick it up, better late then never. Also maybe since they didn't give it to us we can con them into giving us two since Ben will want one.

That's another kind of lame thing... I mean a house of two people should be able to import two villagers no?

I was a manager for Gamestop and there is nothing to stop that to be honest. However Gamestop as a company doesn't really lose anything from that to be honest because people will still buy the game there. Not to mention that most people that care about a bonus actually want a game... It really didn't happen as often as people assume it would.

Not to mention that typically if we had let's say 20 preorders on a game we'd get as much as 30-40 of bonus codes etc etc... The "exclusive" pre-order bonuses like that never usually were... Only the big stuff. Hell I got myself and like 10 other people the code for pub games and NONE of us pre-ordered fable 2... I was able to do this without denying any customers their code either.

Anywho my point was they used to (not sure about now that company is going more to sh*t every day) not worry about that because it wasn't a big deal, it didn't happen that often. Lionhead specifically advertises that you are supposed to get the code at the time of pre-order (online) but they might not be honoring that. I guess if I never get it I won't really care it's not that big of of a deal... but I would like. I've made about ten villagers (will probably make more lol) don't know what type I want to import to the actual game though

Huh, well that was the only reason I was pre-ordering it to be honest. My hubby is in mgmt at Wal-mart so we get a 10% discount so we would be better off just getting it on release day at Wal-mart if I'm not going to get the code...
