Alright bibliophiles! Let's start fresh and get a bookclub up and going again. grin

My favorite genre is SciFi/Fantasy, but I'll read pretty much anything with a good review. So I am open to suggestions!

Anyone have something they'd really like to read???

I am so excited! I have a million books on my "want to read" list, and working in a library doesn't make it any easier raspberry
I have been wanting to read "Eat, Pray, Love" for a little while now, but I also want to re-read Eragon. Or start the Disc world series by terri pratchet.
As of right now I would prefer not to read any huge books (Robert Jordanesque) because I don't have a ton of time for reading. (I am unfortunatly one of those people who is easily distracted with any noise or movement around me so I have to lock myself away to read, it sucks)

Oh! Going through the Discworld series again has been on my to-do list for awhile now. (read many when I was much younger so it's been awhile!) I'd be up for starting with The Color of Magic. smile

I actually just downloaded Eat Pray Love to my nook today! I have a ton of books that I haven't read yet or have only read a couple of pages and then abandoned them for no good reason. House of Leaves is one of those books along with several others that I can't remember without going over and looking at them.

We can do Eat, Pray, Love then! You two both have it/want to read it. I have been told multiple times that I should read it, so it's been in my "eh, maybe sometime" list. LOL This could be my sometime. smile

Doing Eat, Pray, Love as a group will get me to finally read it, so let's do that one! I'll get it for my Kindle, so I can have it whenever. When will starting discussions work for you two? Next week?

Oh man, Penguin wants $12.99 for the Kindle version, but only $7.99 for the paperback!! WTH? They are really beginning to tick me off. But that's a whole other thread. lol

When I sit down and read, I really absorb myself into it. So I'm good to discuss whenever smile

I don't have any e-reader type of things, but I will see what I can do about getting a book!. I really prefer reading from a hard copy, but if I can't get one in the next couple days I will break down and use an e-book. lol

Oh I definitely have books that I would not want any other way than hard copy. I tend to buy those as hardcovers, though. We have such a tiny library here, and I'm far enough away from any bookstore, that I just get books quicker and easier with Kindle.

I would be up for this, I read just about anything. My two favorite series are Star Wars and Twlight so anything is good for me smile

And I had to say I loved the Carmaine family drinking song - I have had a bunch of friends look it up lol.

Hee! I'm glad you liked it. It was my first YouTube creation ever, so something so plain took SO LONG to do. (and I know it shouldn't have) Ugh. I have more lyrics in my head, but Warner Music is filtering YouTube hard, so I'm not sure I can put them up.

Does everyone still want to do Eat, Pray, Love? I've been waiting to buy it, but I should probably just dive in and get us started. smile

Awesome! I will download to my Kindle tonight or tomorrow then. smile

As for discussion, what style works best for you all? Read the whole book and then chat, or read so many chapters and then talk? I can do either.

ETA: Oh and here's some suggested discussion questions (that they also mentioned were potential spoilers, so don't read them yet if you don't wanna know) -
