I have my 3 Day passes to go with Hubs & my hotel room now!!! So excited.

Just bumping this up to see if anyone else has purchased passes yet. I'd love to meet up with my PopChiX! I know it's about three months away, but this'll give us time to brainstorm ideas so we can set something up.

I'm seriously considering this - would be my first one! :) Any advice, such as where to stay, and by what date you should def register, stuff like that?

It was SO much fun last year! I would highly suggest pre-registering ASAP, it was painless online.

I'm not sure about hotels since I live local, and I'll be driving or using the T to get there. That said, it's easy to get there from other locations. I know the PAX East site has a hotels page, but there are tons of options for you in terms of price range if you aren't picky about distance from the convention center.

I am thinking about it, it depends on if I would have the funds needed because I would have to fly unless someone is driving through my area to it. I would love to go, its been a major want of mine for quite awhile.

Hubs & I are coming down from NH. Since we're doing the whole weekend this year we got a hotel room for the nights of the 11th & 12th. We're staying at the Westin (one of the 1 Bed rooms), which is right at the conference center. I had us booked at the Renaissance months ago, but now that my knee is really bad, I needed the least walk possible. (the site shows the Renaissance as .5 miles from the conf) Here's the booking page where you can get PAX prices. I have been looking at flight prices and such and does anyone have any tips/suggestions as to which hotels to stay away from and are there any Chix going that are looking for roomates for said hotel rooms? I am still in the maybe planning stages but it might be doable for me. I would love to have kind of travel buddies to meet up with if I am fortunate to be able to go.

Pooki, Elli and I are looking to go, so if you want to share a room or something, send me a message. We haven't looked where yet, but we've been talking about it. I believe we might have a third too.

I will definitely message you about it as it gets a bit closer. If this does work out for me I will be soooo happy! I have wanted to go for so long! I may see about booking plane tickets next month and getting a 3 day pass. I think I need to just bite the bullet (heh,heh) and do it.

Edit: It looks as though I AM going. I just found out I have someone willing to drive me so I can save on plane tickets! I am looking into hotels so if I can get one in the same one you ladies are in that would be great for walking around the convention and stuff. PAX East is on my birthday weekend so this should be a blast!!! (I hope)

Sorry for the double post but as we are getting closer to PAX I was wondering who else is definitely going? I know I have my 3 day passes ordered and I am working on the hotel rooms, for myself and a couple other ChiX So sound off who is gonna be in Boston and who wants to crash some panels together?

Speaking of, what panels/events are you wanting to go to see the most? I know I most definitely want to go to the Jonathan Coulton concert that is a must for me. I would like to visit his, Paul and Storm's booths, plus I have heard that Rooster Teeth that does Achievement Hunter and Red Vs. Blue videos may be there that is a want for me. I would also like to go to anything that Wil Wheaton may have set up if he is going to be there. Its hard to know because the schedules and guests and such aren't posted yet or does anyone know where they are posted? I know that Stepto will be speaking and that is something I may be interested in. I have seen vids of him at w00tstock and he is funny.

Also since this is my first PAX is there anything that I should be wary of watch out for? Basically give us PAX noobs the run down veterans! It looks like our hotel will be around 10 to 15 miles from PAX and I am hoping there is all day/night parking available nearby, can anyone that lives in the area or that went last year verify this? Or would it be cheaper to take public transport and how easy/safe would that be considering how late some of the concerts let out? GMTA! Heeee! As per Twitter, I'm there! Hubs & I will be married for 15 on the 15th. So how are we celebrating? PAX, of course!

I want to see many of the same things you do. Jonathan Coulton, Paul & Storm, Rooster Teeth. I attended the live podcast of MajorNelson, e, stepto & lauralollipop last year and really enjoyed it, so that's a must for me. They announced that will be Saturday at 5pm.

When we went last year (just one day) we drove down from NH. We parked at Alewife station for the day and took the T in. Now that it is at the new location, you can still park and take the T but then you have to hop on the Silver Line. The T stops running too early for you to be able to ride it back from a concert, though. So you'd need to park or cab. Eith is more local to Boston so she'd have good ideas, I bet.

Oh and I was so bummed to miss stepto's panel last year. He 'bookified' his blog recently too, and said he'll be bringing copies to sign at PAX. I want to nab one.

And maybe this time I won't turn into a deer in headlights upon meeting him or anyone else. I hate being shy.

I'm going just need to find a really cheap hotel.

I found a good price on Priceline. I was able to find one for $59 a night 8 miles from PAX so its not too bad. Look for the Red Roof Inn. Put the slider between 0-$75 that is how I found it and use the address for PAX. If you have any questions or have trouble finding it PM me. I can give you more info. Sometimes what you put in for search criteria can make a huge difference on price.
