I think they are trying to compete with Steam but this is a really good deal.

FEAR 2 for only $4.99. I think the sale goes through next Wednesday.

[Edit to remove Live from the subject - it's just a Windows game not a Windows Live game - no achievements for this puppy if you were wondering]

Is it bad that I try to only buy my pc games through steam? I really just don't want to have another interface to deal with on the pc.
I am bad, aren't I? *shrugs*

I don't think it's bad at all. Just like some people prefer PS3's to Xbox 360 and some people like both. smile I just like to game.

I am going to try to be less platform biased...
It all starts with one step...

lol - well for the longest time I was a diehard PC fan but the Xbox 360 changed all that for me. Now I like to use all the platforms but I find that each of them has their strengths.

For several years I worked for a casual games publisher (WildTangent) that also has it's own client interface for downloading and launching the games. As a designer I'd install lots of other clients to check them out and being an avid gamer I already had some of them installed anyway.

I think if you prefer Steam and you can get all the games you love on it then there is nothing wrong with only using Steam.
