It seems legit (I don't know but I thought it wasn't so it was worrying me so I googled it).
Now what's going to happen with us who seems to have already done all of the above. I renewed for 12 months, already have netflix, bought stuff from promos. They best give me 1000 MSP! lol - but really how is this gonna work?
the more you use the service the more you get rewarded. ive just gotten 220 points for janurary. you also get MS points for filling in a questionaire each month
For me is kind of useless since i can't have Netflix, i don't have a credit card to link to XBL to renew my sub and mostly the only things i buy is avatar clothes that are 80 pts but hey at least i get 20 pts for that survey woohoo lol
I signed up for this a long time ago when I saw it on the dashboard but how do you check if you have earned any... or if they have promos so you can earn more?
Edited to say that I figured it out, appears that I earned 20 pts for taking a survey. I just had to sign into the rewards website.
I signed up for it when it first came out. It does take a while for the points to get deposited in your account after earning them and I have heard that you have to accumulated at least 100 points before they will transfer.
The only sucky thing about it was that I did the family pack BEFORE signing up for it, we are already good until August 2011, and we got Netflix BEFORE signing up for it, and I have obviously made a marketplace purchase BEFORE signing up for it so it is really just the 20 pt survey for me to earn points. We have Netflix so won't be renting movies from dashboard. But this months was easy - 1 question lol
I think it's pretty crappy because things like netflix just happen the first time you use them or sign up. I've been a paying netflix costumer for like five years where's my reward lol.
Also I don't get when we get the actually points added to our account I have 40 when will I actually get access to them?
I completely agree with you girls. It seems that the people that are going to stick around and get the most from this rewards system ALREADY do (or did) the stuff that earns you points...
We've had netflix on the xbox since it came out. We signed up for the family pack right after it was available. Those of us that have been around and will continue to game for ages already did all that cool stuff. Hopefully they can come up with a way to reward the "oldies." Maybe reward points for each year you're a live member, like 5 year members get 500 points while a one year member gets 100...
All in all, I think it'll be cool once they get this all worked out.
I did the family plan before signing up for it and didn't get credit for it. However, I also had Netflix before signing up and I did get credit for that after I watched a movie the other night so who knows.
Once you get at least 100 they will transfer them too your account then they just exist like normal points that you use for marketplace stuff.
I still say this system is a big f you to older players, it's clearly geared towards new people and honestly it ticks me off a little. I mean "free" points are awesome but the lack of ways for older players to get stuff is annoying
Have you tried the Gamer IQ? You can win points, etc... I got 200MP just for renewing my membership. The big push is always going to be for new members, but you do have ways of gaining points on it.
