Okay ladies, I decided to make only 1 thread for this book. I kept having to look back on CA to make sure I wasn't talking about something that was outside of the group of chapters.

Can't wait to discuss!
I'll be honest, I still haven't gotten this book from the library yet. I don't know what is taking them so long to have it ready for pickup..

Does someone else have it checked out?
I just started reading it yesterday. Things in my life have been a little crazy lately, but now that they are settling I have time to read.
I haven't started yet either. My excuse is that I was at PAX and Hubs is home for a few days to celebrate our anniversary. I'll probably start tomorrow. Sorry!
I just finished it. I am definatly looking forward to the next one in this series. Once more people finish it then I will discuss it more. Don't want to spoil the story!
If you like Kelly Keaton's writing, definitely check out her adult series, written under Kelly Gay. Better Part of Darkness is the first one. It's Urban Fantasy inspired by Greek Mythology. I'm really enjoying the series.
I don't know that I'll be able to complete the book this month. I have started it and I'm probably about 1/3 through. It's been a busy month with Dragon Age 2 coming out. :/ I do like that it's pretty fast paced though.
I thought I posted but I guess not. I finished this last weekend. Once I started I couldn't put it down. She writes such vivid descriptions of her fantasy worlds that I felt like I was right there. Trying not to spoil ... I loved the more unique take on the Urban Fantasy genre - using Greek Mythology as her inspiration so that there was a fresher mix of beings (even though vamps were still part of the mix). I DID feel like the relationship was really rushed, which was a little disappointing. I had also hoped to have the various powers of each being flushed out, BUT I think that was held back to keep some characters' true nature and ability a mystery (and most especially Ari's), since the mystery was a huge plot point for this book. Hopefully we'll see and learn more about their abilities in the next installment. One of my favaorite parts of fantasy novels is seeing how author's make powers work, look, and feel.
Just finally finished this today - was a much faster read than I was expecting and a much more enjoyable one. First time reading the author and other than a short foray in Percy Jackson, first real cross into...urban fantasy?
The relationship is super rushed, which kinda bothered me because I'm tired of women protagonists just kinda falling into THE ONE's arms right away - what ever happened to letting the sexual tension build over several books - or did Twilight ruin that?
Definitely will check out the next book, will check back if more Chix post
I defiantly agree on the relationship thing. I am not a big fan of love stories so I don't really have a broad base to speak from, but I haven't read any real love stories lately, they all seem to be lust and infatuation.
I think that violet is my favorite character. I would really like to know more about her.
I get snippy when people mistake love and lust. I mean, if you're writing smut, ok fine. But what's with all the 17 year olds hoping directly onto bed with the first mysterious stranger that they meet? Most people aren't that brave nor are they that nieave. Most teens fall somewhere inbetween. That being said, I'm reading this as an adult situation. If I were to approach it as a teenager myself, would I (we) perhaps feel differently?
In all honesty, I would hope not, because would imply that I was terribly naive, or just had very unrealistic expectations of the world around me. Which is another reason why it seems so odd in this story. Ari doesn't seem to be niave when talking about her past, and the rest of her life. For someone who says she was treated poorly and has a distrust for strangers, she warmed up to him very quickly.
Maybe the next book will get into that at least a little bit? She does say (Ari I mean) say even she's surprised by how fast the relationship seems to move...
