ive just head from xbox uk facebook page that the beta code you got with bulletstorm allows you to play the gears beta for 1 week only? does anyone know whether this is true. if it is i feel cheated, it never mentioned anywhere on the box the beta is one week long.
if it is true im going to be really pissed off. that will be another "F£%^ you" moment curtosy of epic

We've got Gears news! Pre-Order Gears of War 3 [PEGI 18] from GAME or Gamestation (limited or epic edition) and you can get acess to the Multiplayer Beta that starts on April 25th. Owners of the Bulletstorm: Epic Edition [PEGI 18] will get a one-week preview, starting on April 18th.

For those of you who purchased the Bulletstorm Epic Edition (on Xbox 360 only), you get early access to the Beta, beginning April 18.
Three new multiplayer modes and four exclusive maps will be rolled out during the Beta period -- all running on dedicated servers. This is your chance to help shape the most anticipated game of 2011.
In the Beta you can play Team Deathmatch mode on the four new maps (Thrashball, Checkout, Trenches, and Old Town); Capture the Leader and King of the Hill gameplay modes will be added later in the Beta period. Also, be sure to look out for a surprise event weekend that you won't want to miss.

Hubby finally let me get Bulletstorm so we can get early access. Hoping it unlocks for the xbox not just the gamertag... We have the preorder code but the extra week is going to be nice and I know our teens really want to try the beta too.

Hmmm wondering if when it says play xx matches in "any game mode" that means each game mode has a seperate counter or just xx matches total since they are going to have 3 modes?
Can't play split screen so hubby and I are taking turns every 10 matches lol. But sooooooooooo lovin it! A lot like Gears 2 but it has some new guns and a few new moves. Just figured out that you can kick ppl that are on the other side of cover you are and knock them down, awesome.
Anyone else loving the gun skins, ribbons, metals, etc? I hope they set it up like that on Gears 3. Awesome how you unlock executions and stuff too. Gives you small things to work toward instead of just winning.
Any thoughts on the new weapons? Sawed off shotgun...tried it...didn't love it lol. I need to get 23 more kills with it to unlock its execution...will do but so not loving it as much as I thought I would, I like the gnasher a lot better. But maybe that is just because I am more used to it? LOVING the retro lancer! And the charge move is awesome but not really my style yet since you have to charge it, I am always afraid they will see me charging at them lol.
Love how you can keep punching someone on an execution and keep getting xp for it, someone did it to me and I was excited when I figured out how to do it lol. Yes, little things make me happy. Oh yeah, and the hit them with their leg and then drop it on them. Someone did that to me and my 15 yr old son was laughing "hey mom, want your leg back? grab it...grab it...grab it, ah there he dropped it for you" lol.
I really like Anya too, she is smaller so seems easier to manipulate? I don't know how to describe it but she seems (at least to me) less...bumpy? when you are moving around. The only issue I had with her was that there was a kid playing and his voice and hers were the same so I sometimes couldn't tell if it was her or him lol. I was in a shotgun battle and everytime I got a hit she would yell "Woah" which was a huh? moment then I figured it must have been the kid saying that. Can you hear the other team? I don't use a mic but I could hear through the tv.
Anyone figured out what the crossed swords means? I noticed only one player a time had it...
I'm a complete noob at Gears MP so EVERYTHING is new for me. I love how you unluck small things all the time and get ribbons and skins and stuff, it's so motivating! Does all that carry over from the beta, anyone knows about that? Or do you have to start over? I think you keep the skins and characters, but not so sure about the levels and medals. I would LOVE to keep it all! Please, Epic!
I haven't figured out everything yet, but I've had tons of fun so far. The only thing that was a slight disappointment was that in the beginning I thought "oh cool, all the names are anonymous so people won't know if you accidentally play like crap" and was sooo relaxed about it all that I probably played much better simply because I was relaxed instead of supertense "oh must not make a mistake my team will hate me". I even got MVP medals and stuff so I was completely psyched - until I saw that "3 players were waiting to join" and I noticed that I had been playing with 8 AIs and only 1 other player, haha. So then a few level 15-20s entered the game and suddenly my winning streak was over, lol, and the names aren't anonymous.. those were just AIs. Aw xD But it still rocks
I think crossed swords mean something quite skilled.. the players who had it were always in the leading slot. Maybe the Veteran medal from Gears2, showing that you're already good at the game? I don't know.
Also, I don't hear the other players. Or haven't heard them yet.

I don't know, it is possible I unlocked it before I figurd out how to do it. You hold Y when you do the execution but it doesn't work when you have the gnasher equiped, the gnasher is shotgun golf like in Gears 2. With the retro lancer if you hold Y you cut their head off. I unlocked the sawed off exection last night but it is almost always an insta-kill so have no idea what the exection is. When you get someone down try switching to your snub pistol then holding Y to execute them. But you have to hold it down and you will punch them for a really long time, I have never done it for too long because I don't want to get killed while doing it lol. But I have gotten 100 extra xp for it

I thought it was MVP but I had that a couple times and didn't get it either. But I do know that whoever has it is usually really good so it has to mean something good lol.
From what I understand the only thing you keep are the guns, Cole-Train, and the retro lancer (already have my 100 kills just need 60 more matches lol) and the metal for trying the beta.
Ha, cool Gonna try that.. right now I'm usually finishing off people with the sawed-off to also unlock the execution, I'm not really good with that gun either. I wiiiiiiiiiiish we could keep the levels! Not that I'm that high.. but I hate working towards something that I can't keep, sniff. Btw, I THINK you need to do 90 matches to unlock the golden retro-lancer and THEN do 100 kills with the golden one to perma-unlock it. That's at least what it says in the list.

"Me and my Fiance are hardcore fans of Gears of War and we are playing the Beta right now.. Today we figured out a way to play splitscreen.
Things you need:
-Two controllers
-Two seperate gold Live accounts.
- One friend in a Joinable lobby or a joinable game.
Here's how:
- Turn on the Xbox lol
- Put the Bulletstorm game in (if you do not have that then try to follow this anyway.)
- Click on the Gears of War 3 Beta on the Title screen.
- Turn two controllers on and only two controllers.
- Login both of them with two sepreate Gold accounts.
- On the First controller Press START, It will say too many profiles signed in.
- On the Second controller, Press the X button and locate a Friend who has a Joinable game or lobby. (It maybe hard to navigate due to the "too many profiles signed in notification")
- Join their game/lobby.
- One of Two things will happen. 1. You will join their game/lobby successfully. 2. It will fail BUT let you make your own game and lobby with two players. Woooooh!
Something you may need to know is that the Splitscreen has its issues but it is perfectly playable."
I also found that I'm apparently not supposed to play the Beta.
Q. I live in Japan or Germany, own Bulletstorm Epic Edition and see a message that says “Gears MP Beta Coming Soon” in the UI. Will I have access to the Gears 3 beta?
A. Consumers in Japan and Germany are restricted from participating in the Gears of War 3 beta due to games rating issues in each country. This notice applies only to regions participating in the beta.
