So since I am a girl gamer guys always ask me "how do I get my girlfriend to play games?"

I find the problems are either

a) she just doesn't like games not a biggie

b) the guy wants his girl to play the games he wants instead of asking what she wants to play

c) the guy doesn't want to spend any time helping her figure out HOW to play a certain game, but just wants her to dive in. Like I had a guy friend who would beg his girl to play halo online with us when she hardly even remembered what the controls were

Random rant, any thoughts?

I haven't had people ask me that question, but I definatly agree on the jumping in thing. That is the main reason I HATED!!!!! Halo when I first played. Once I found another beginner to play through the campaign with me I liked it much better.

Add to it... Yes I am a chick and that's why I use a female avatar no I don't want to chat with you instead of playing the game... AHHHHHHHH

^^ Amen to the "I don't want to chat with you instead of playing the game"... maybe my multitasking abilities fail me on this one, but I usually don't really like chatting IF I'm not on the same game with someone and it's ABOUT the game, or if I'm not mindlessly grinding away for achievements and know the game really well. It just distracts me too much and I can't focus on the story or difficult sequences enough. >.<

Also since this is a ranting thread.. my mood grows worse by the hour. XBL has been down for over 4 hours now (in Germany, it seems) and I don't dare continue my games in fear of losing achievements because I can't sign in. These are the moments in which I notice just how addicted I really am. Ah, crap.

Edit: Oh lol.. literally the minute I posted this XBL FINALLY worked again! I am SAVED! YAYAYAYAY! LOL!

Edit2: And now I got disconnected after a minute again. -.- Noooooo my gaming Sunday... Now seriously if this is maintenance, who the f*** does it on a Sunday? Can't they do it on a Tuesday or something?
