Just wanted to know if anyone would be up for some Alien Swarm this week? I really want to get some of the Steam achievements for this game.
Anyone want to play tonight or thursday?
Would be great if I could round up 3 other ladies to play.
Pooki let's play thursday. Can you make 6:30pm? I really want to try to get the normal mode achievements. It was really fun last time. I will try to get my lil sis Marley bites to join us...I wonder if fifi would like to join? the game is best when their are 4 players.
Definitely, I had such a blast last time! Both Saturday/Sunday are good for me (on Saturday we could also start at a later time, not a problem). But no worries if rescheduling is problematic for you other girls - if it doesn't work out for me this time, there'll be another opportunity. I still have my current DA2 & Bulletstorm obsession to console me
I'm having internet problems with my upload speed so i'm unable to play PC games until i get it fixed...tried playing L4D2 with Pooki not too long ago and was a total fail...i wanted to break some faces after we finished trying >:[

I haven't played Alien Swarm but I noticed it's free so I've gone ahead and downloaded it. I can try and join you on Sunday. I'll try and get some practice time in ahead of time. Any special group needs? Should I go for a medic?

Joining us would be awesome. You can be anything you want. I have been playing as the Tech. I think we can never have enough medics.

@Kwynn: Cool!! Would be great if you joined us, and don't worry too much about practicing - it's a lot easier when you have 4 people than when you're practicing on your own. Maybe the tutorial for the basic button combinations but they're pretty easy, the main thing is good teamwork and crowd control
I also don't HAVE to play the (beginner-friendly) assault specialist like last time, I'd do any other role (to get more class-specific achievements hrhr). I think the "character level" is the same no matter if you switch classes in the meantime, but not 100% sure on that.
I think I will try medic then. I'm not generally a great shot so I don't make a good tank.
Tell me - is this game anything like Enemy Territory: Quake Wars?

From what I saw Enemy Territory is more a FPS and Alien Swarm is a top down shooter.
I also read that there are some user created campaigns we could all download but I don't know if they work with steam...I was confused when reading about it, maybe next time.
Well my son didn't have class today so I got him to play with me and got familiar with some of the maps as well as leveled a little bit. It's funny - you tell a college student that there is a free game and they are more than happy to play.
Anyway, I feel pretty good about joining you all on Sunday. I'm not very high level but at least I'm not a total newb anymore. And damn the game is hard with only 2 people so I'm glad there will be 4 of us.
Hey guys - had a ton of fun tonight. In the last mission after I died a got a blue screen so I just logged. Sorry I didn't get to say goodnight. We should definitely do this again sometime. I need more levels!!!

Also sorry I didn't stay for a bit longer, the constant laggings and connection losses (resulting in deaths with no exp) in the last half hour made me even more tired than I already was... and then imagine my JOY when I came into my bf's room and saw him STREAMING HD NBA videos! LOL!
