So who's getting Gears 3 on release day?

If you do and didn't take part or play much in the beta, here's a bit of information for you taken from Joystiq:

"If you didn't get your very own gold-plated murder machine during the Gears of War 3 beta back in April, we've got good news – which is, uh, that you'll still be able to do that. The US Air Force is sponsoring "Gears of War 3 Golden Wings Week" for next week's Gears 3 launch, and players who go online to share their chainsaw-powered love with other Gears players between September 20 - 26 will unlock the Golden Lancer and Golden Hammerburst weapon skins."

(so much for "beta-exclusive weapon, GET IT NOW OR YOU WILL NEVER" and working your butt off during the beta, but hey, good for those of you who didn't... :p)

Me too! Argh! It was so hard for me to get those stupid 100 retro kills, at least I got some practice on the way and it was fun when I got to play with other Chix, so I try not to be irritated about it.

I'm getting it on release day, but I am not sure if I will be able to play it with anyone for a few days. We can't get internet at our new house until the 22nd so we aren't sure when we will actually move in.

I've just read that 25x exp in Gears 2 is active, plus "tickers by the boatload" in horde mode. Anyone planning on playing later or this week?

XBL seems to be experiencing problems though - can't connect right now, hope they fix that rather soon. Come on!

Well, I've been trying to connect for an hour or so, but my Xbox won't let me log onto XBL.. which is weird since I can login on the web page. I guess the universe doesn't want me to play right now and I do have to get up early anyway I'll try again tomorrow. Have fun!!!

Had one crazy long Gears 2 session yesterday - killing tickers from 11am Sunday to 1am Monday. It's a miracle I didn't dream of tickers. Thanks for the great company and help, it would've been a lot more boring without you

My Gears 3 copy was dispatched on Friday from UK - sitting here scratching my work desk and hoping it would arrive today... which I realize is very unlikely, but I can still hope :D

Me? I won't lose sleep over gears, however if it was BF3 I would be paying big dolla'dolla to sneak my xbox into work. But thats not a worry.. I've booked time off work for BF3. Yup. I did. *leads a sad existance*
