Well, it appears you can wipe your save, rank, etc in Gears 3 just like Gears 2. I got hit again but it wasn't as bad as in Gears 3 (completely lost my rank). I looked on the GOW forums and a lot of people are having this problem. Some people are getting everything - rank, metals, etc wiped. I was fortunate and only got progress towards achvs and campaign stuff deleted. I still have all my kills, metals, ribons, etc. I say lucky because I only need 1 more kill for my execution achv and I had them all unlocked it just didn't remember I did the other 23 so going back and getting them is the easy part; earning them is the hard part. And I was only an hour into the campaign so I didn't need to redo much. While playing beast mode last night it gave me the metal to complete 60 waves, earn xxx (2 star) in beast mode...and the credit toward the achv to beat wave 12 in beast mode. When we were done the achv was even highlighted in the stats section!

From what I read mine got wiped out because I was on the first screen after you hit start when hubby signed in. It kicked us back to the press start to play screen and when I hit start it asked me to choose a brightness level.

Our son joined in with his sister the other night and had lost everything - all his unlocks, his rank, etc. They were playing beast mode and he was changing his guns when the host went back to the lobby. When they got to the lobby he was no longer a rank 33...he was a 1. They turned off the xbox and it all came back but from what I have read a lot of people aren't so lucky.

So just a heads up when you are going to play split screen make sure everyone is signed in at the dashboard before you load the game and you back all the way out to the press play to start screen then dashboard before you sign out or turn off your xbox. A few people have said it happened in single player but most have the issue in split screen from what I read.

I was wondering how it happens. I know a few friends of mine got everything wiped on Gears 2.

When I got wiped on Gears 2 and looked on their forums the only thing I could figure out was I signed in at the wrong time on the loading screen. Sucks.

Ah man, that blows. Sorry to hear that happened to you as well, I just read about 2 weeks ago that this could happen on Gears 2 and that people strongly advise against using a second controller to boost certain achievements and stuff, because a wipe could occur. (Ha, ha, very funny.. what about normal co-op? I do that all the time...) From what I've heard it can also happen when you sign in at a friend's with your GT and he doesn't have the latest patch. Also, clearing the Xbox cache could apparently sometimes cause this.

Makes you kinda paranoid...

I'm not concernted about boosting it with a second controller we play split screen ALL the time just to play together. Games that support split screen should be set up to handle split screen. Grr. Ah well, I will be forever paranoid until I get my Seriously 3.0 lol
