Oooh, I had only thought about the Kindle. I'm gonna have to go look up info about the Nook. That's what Mr. Muffin is hoping to get me for Christmas...or me for myself, however it works out lol
Yeah I've been reading up on these, thinking of getting one. I'm leaning toward the kindle, I believe you can link it to up to 6 accounts, which means my bf and I could access each other's ebooks, but haven't made a firm decision yet. Also do any of them allow for night reading, because most of my reading is done in bed and I usually use a flashlight which is super annoying haha.
I think what they mean by linking accounts, is that you can read your ebooks on your kindle, PC and even iPhone. As far as I can tell none of the ereades offer any kind of backlight for night time reading which sucks since I also enjoy reading at night.
Have been thinking about looking into them. Does anyone know what the respective policies are if your kindle/nook/e-reader breaks? Do you have to re-purchase all the books you bought?
I have a Kindle and love it. The Nook looks pretty cool too but I haven't messed with one to know for sure. I actually like that it isn't backlit because it keeps my eyes from straining to see and giving me headaches like if I look at a computer screen for too long or something. I just use it with a book light for night time reading.

I've got a NOOK Color which I was eye-balling forever and was so happy when I was finally able to buy one. The sad thing is, nobody I know loves to read like me; and I've been really itching to use the NOOK Friends feature. It would be nice to find some people who read ha ha.
@ Cookie- Definitely! If for some reason, I'm having trouble adding you, here's my email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). What genre(s) do you enjoy the most?
I was thinking about getting an ipad2 for apps and books but was wondering about the backlight. I know on kindle its easier on the eyes because I believe there is no backlight.....anyone have both of these or know what the difference is when reading from ipad2 or kindle... which one is easier on the eyes?

I personally don't like using my ipad to read, the strain is too much I think. I'm going to be getting a kindle for the holidays!
I also got a Kindle for Christmas and have to say that I do prefer reading books on it - especially in bed. I got one of the eInk Kindles that you can read outside - not one the touch or color ones. I still like my iPad for a lot of things but for reading books I've definitely been convinced that the Kindle is the way to go.
I've really been thinking about getting one of these because my book collection is taking up too much room in my tiny apartment xD
Would any of you ladies recommend which one is better for not hurting your eyes too much? I have chronic migraines and I think that's the only reason I haven't gone through and bought one yet. Screens can trigger them sometimes. Thanks for the input ladies!
Well, for me the Kindle eInk screen looks almost identical to a printed page in a paperback book. It's not back-lit so you do need light to be able to read with it.
I wonder if it's the back-lit screens that give you a headache?

Thanks for the suggestion kwynn, I think I'll definitely look into the Kindle. I think you're right, the back-light makes me strain my eyes. I usually have to set the brightness to the lowest on my screens. How's the glare with it? I've always wondered if reading with normal light causes too much glare.
On the eInk Kindles there is virtually no glare - it really is a lot like looking at a paper page. I don't know about the newer one that is in color - the Kindle Fire.
