I played FFXI for a bit and really enjoyed it, im currently taking a time out, but im still excited to see what the new final fantasy MMO will bring us
Who else will be playing, what do you think about having the basicly the same charictors? - im slightly dissapointed to be honest, and i dont like the fact that they are the same but with different names - thats going to get confusing!!!!
I'm looking forward to FFXIV myself too! I'm disappointed by the basic rehashing of the races and such. I have decided to play an Elvaan (or whatever their new names are) but I have a feeling that once a Taru always a Taru and I'll end up making a Lalafell!! My fiance is a scared I will make a taru as he's already decided to make a Galka ...that could be interesting!!
I'm on Fairy, you? - lol I think your right - I'm pretty sure I'm just going to make the same that I have now - once a mithra always a mithra! - and to me no matter what they try to say a taru is a taru no matter what you pretend to call it! lol
I just reactivated my Flicky .... wow its dead on here now! I ran from sandy to bastok and only saw about 3 people!
I'm SO excited for the new FFXIV MMO! I love, love, loved FFXI. My husband and I aren't playing anymore because our friends all stopped playing when the player base dropped, but I've heard they added a lot of interesting stuff to test for the new MMO since then, and all of it has sounded awesome. I had a 75RDM tarutaru named Brilanna on the Titan server, she was the CUTEST thing! As the saying goes "once a taru always a taru"... so, I'll most definitely be rolling a Lalafell (sp?) on XIV, how exciting!!
In the meantime, I've been filling my time with Aion. It's a decent game, but I miss my moogle, mog house, and a chocobo! (though it would be fun to have a taru with wings!)
I did, however, register to get a chocobo on Xbox Live for my avatar! I'm pretty stoked!
I registered for one of those too! Soo cute!! Any ideas when we will be getting them? Are you girls going to be playing on the xbox or pc (or ps3)? Ighink we will get both xbox and pc versions so that my boyfriend and I can play at the same time
I don't think they have decided if FFXIV is coming to the 360 yet. Though, they never said it's not going to be released on 360 either... My bet is it will release for PS3 and PC first, and then several months later they'll release a version for XBOX as they did with FFXI. But, we'll see. My hubby and I are undecided on which version we'll buy first... more than likely we'll pick up 2 PC copies to start with. And then we'll probably pick up one of the PS3 versions soon thereafter (just so we can play it on the big screen from the comfort of our couch, lol). And, if it comes out for 360, we'll buy it there too - just for the achievements... Gah, we're game hogs, lol!
I think the main problem with the 360 version will be that gamers will have to pay for the game, the online play, as well as XBLive.. kinda pricey. But if you have the game on multiple platforms, thankfully you don't have to pay sub fees for each. We'll see. :D I'm excited any way you look at it! :D

My DH and I used to play FFXI, too, but we also ended up leaving because our friends stopped playing. We were playing Aion for a while, and it's pretty good, but we haven't played for a few months now.
We can't wait for FFXIV to come out, though! Now my DH is trying to convince me that we need a second PS3, lol. We used to play FFXI on our PC's.
I'm also a little disappointed that the characters are basically the same, with the names changed. I thought it was a little odd actually... Oh, well, it will still be fun .
