The other gaming sites I frequent, people have been going ga-ga snatching $20 copies of the GoW Collection. I just recently returned my copy of Darksiders, and kinda wish I kept and finished it. BUT I remember reading that it's gameplay is similar to God of War (in addition to Legend of Zelda). And I've never played God of War anything, but read that God of War collection was a remake of GoW1 and GoW2 in HD, and has tons of positive customer reviews from GoW noobs and fans alike. Soooo I went ahead and took the plunge - ordered a copy from Gamestop.com (ended up being $20.10 w/tax & free shipping -- it's $26.99 in stores. It's know it's just around $7 difference, but to me $26.99 might as well be $30 and I'm cheap. :D) So, my copy should show up next week some time. Everything I've read about of GoW series has been positive, that once you start you can't put the controller down. And that it's definitely NOT a game for the kids. Anyways, I'm super excited right now about getting it -- plus I'm hoping they convert a few other ps2 games over to HD so those of us who missed them first time around get a chance to enjoy them!!! (ie, ICO, Shadow of the Collosus, etc)

You will be VERY pleased. I'm a huge fan of the franchise. The violence and gore are a bit much at first, at least they were for me, but the puzzles and Greek mythology really pulled me in. The story line is great and they're right-- you WON'T want to put the controller down lol

Awesome - thanks for the info!! Honestly, I really can't wait to play this! (Finally get to kick around in the shoes of Kratos!!) I kinda blew it off the whole series at first, but I've heard so many great things about GoW - I really can't believe I'm just getting on the band wagon this late (better late than never I guess)! Also, did you play God of War 3 then? Someone was telling me that they needed to make another rating beyond Mature, and apply it to GoW 3 LOL!

GoW was a favorite in our house when we had a PS2. I didn't enjoy GoW2 as much as I did the original, but my husband did.... you won't be disappointed, though smile I'm using GoW3 as a pro in my pro vs. cons list to convince my husband we *need* a PS3 when we have the extra money kicking around, lol.

I don't think anyone was as pleased with GoW2 as they thought they would be. It wasn't long enough for me downer
