well its my ten year rolling up this year since i been outta high school but i was one of those kids who were a nerd...machine and film junkie. Yea i did the JROTC hell no on the band lol. i was just always around film and fixing computers and stuuf. hell yea i got picked on and it was one of those rich people schools.....so i was wondering if i really should go just to see all the people who picked on me spit in my face some more or just say wtf evea!...im about to finish film school anyways...so its just bad memories to be going back too....
If you were an island unto yourself in HS..I wouldn't. Why go see a bunch of people who made you angry? My 10 will be next year, and I probably won't be going since I see everyone most of the time anyway.
I guess if you did have friends there that you want to see, send out an email for a small "reunion" that you'll actually want to go to. As for the rest- I say leave the idiots where they are and take no part in it!
Mine is next year and I have debated it, but mine is for different reasons. No one really picked on me but I wasn't in the pep rally crowd, did any clubs or anything. So I was just kind of there. For me, I guess it depends on if people I was friends with go or not. However, if I was in your boat and I felt like it would be bad memories, I wouldn't go at all.
My high school reunion isn't for a long while yet, but we kind of had a 4 year reunion at a friends funeral - not nice circumstance but it also pointed out that I wouldn't want to go to a real one - I quiet enjoyed high school, but most of these people still haven't grown up, and those that went to uni's outside Wales just looked down on those who stayed.
I did not end up going to my 10 year reunion but I figured there was no one there that I would want to see anyway. That was a couple of years ago, since then though I have had more people from high school tell me that they were bummed that I was not there. So you never know, there may be more people than you remember or realize that you may have had an effect on. (and yes I was one of those band geeks!! LOL At least it paid my way through college)
