we have a sanyo 1080p tv hooked up to a PS3 and surround sound. ( as well as our cable)

the past week whilst playing the PS3 the channel keeps changing to a tv channel while playing, and its driving him crazy, we've taken the batterys out the remote thinking its a remote issue and that doesnt stop it. im sick of him moaning now.

anybody got any ideas.

it just started all of a sudden.

Is the cable line directly hooked to the television or is it hooked to a cable box and that's hooked to your television?
If you going thru a cable box, does it still happen when it's turned off?
Also, when you play your ps3 - do you have to press a button on your remote to specify which output to look at (HDMI 2, etc)?

I ask because I'm wondering if your television has an autoswitcher feature - I have an HDMI switch (external) that autochanges over to my xbox or ps3 if I turn it on. If your television has something like that built in and the HDMI cable to your ps3 (assuming that's what you're using) is going bad, that might be the culprit. (Specifically, if the ps3 cable is bad and the tv loses the signal from the ps3, I could see it auto switching over to the next available signal). Honestly, I'm just guessing here. I would suggest going to the Sanyo website and seeing if they can offer support. Or maybe look up the model number for your television via google and see if anyone else has had similar problems -- I've managed to troubleshoot a number of my electronics that way. Hope some of this helps!

it only did it twice durring heavy rain yesterday. but today whilst he was playing saints row 2 it was changing ever few minute, then he changed to grid and it didnt happen once. we are now watching tv and has just jumped back to the HDMI channel the ps3 was on.

we have to manually change the channel to hdmi for the ps3 and vice versa

yes we are running through the tv. our tv channel is on EXT2 and our ps3 on HDMI4

im gonna get him to pull all the cables out of there hiding holes and re connect them incase there is a dodgy cable somewhere, id read him what you posted, he understood you more than i do. lol. ill keep you posted on if the problem gets fixed or worse.

thanx hun smile

the sound also kept going through the cable tv. and then last night we got buzzing.

we found the route cause, the scart cable was slightly loose at the back of the cable box, dont know how though because no one or no animal can get behind the unit. must be vibrations from something.
