And the award for the most surprising shooter of the year so far goes to... Bulletstorm! It hadn't even been on my radar before I read an announcement promising access to the Gears of War 3 Beta upon purchasing the "Epic" edition of this game, and - being a total gear head - I swallowed the bait. I was only expecting a few hours of solid entertainment, but got immediately sucked into the tremendously fun, diverse, creative and well-designed action of Bulletstorm.

Plots in shooters - Does anyone care about them? Well, this game has one, and it's actually quite good. The opening sequence

Nier isn't a game I'd recommend without reservation, and it's certainly not suited for every type of gamer. I can't even say if I would have bought it by myself, but I got it as a present, almost immediately fell in love with it - and at first I wasn't even sure why I felt so attracted to it. I know now though, and that's why I'd like to give a very underrated and often strongly criticized game the spotlight I feel it deserves.

Nier is an action RPG which could be compared to games such as Zelda concerning gameplay and controls. It's a lot darker and more serious though, with less gadgets and

The Sims 3 is back on consoles and about time too. After playing the original Sims on the PC back in 2000 I was hooked immediately, the whole freedom and imagination aspect to the game is a sheer delight, and one that has seen me sit in front of my console for hours on end, leaving the house a mess and chores to do.

For those of you who have never played The Sims before, it's is a game based on a mini virtual-fantasy world in which your created character has a personality, goes to work, builds a house, starts a family and is occasionally burnt to death by a player looking to get revenge on

After what seems like years, the little and loveable keflings are back and they need help building their world.

If you were a fan of A Kingdom for Keflings then you will love the new expanded areas, more characters to interact with and new controls for guests during public four player co-op games. If you are new to Keflings, then...you will still love A World of Keflings from its ease of play to the humorous character dialogue.

Some other new features include:

  • Ability to move buildings without having to tear them down and rebuild them
  • New elements to mine (ore, sand, etc.)
  • Blueprint

I'll be the first to admit, I wasn't really hyped up for this incarnation of the popular RPG from Lionhead but with an extremely limited budget, a generous Black Friday deal and the idea that it would last me a while, I picked it up. After playing it, I was somewhat of a happy camper.

In the first five minutes after putting the game in, you're put through an emotional roller coaster. The opening cinematic is not only a joy to watch graphics-wise but the mini-story will have you on the edge of your seat. Will the pint sized hero make it through the trials presented to him? I won't give it away.

Another Call of Duty game, another few million dollars for Activision.

After Modern Warfare 2 left a sour taste in the mouths of many players, we could only hope that Treyarch, the less admired Call of Duty developer, could surpass everyone's expectations and give the community the multiplayer that Modern Warfare 2 should have been. Not only did MW2 suffer from broken and unbalanced perks like One Many Army, Danger Close, and Commando; guns with very little recoil and dominating air support, the game wasn't supported by Infinity Ward. With Infinity Ward all but disbanded just a few months

Every now and then there's a game that can best be described as a beautiful experience. Enslaved is one of these. It captured my mind from the moment I watched the intro and wouldn't let go of me until I had finished it - three times. Seeing that the first DLC has just been released and I'm exited to play it, I thought I'd write a review for those of you who've missed the game so far.

The story of Enslaved is set in the future after a global war, and if that makes you think, "Fallout," you're dead wrong. Many decades have gone by since the war and nature has reclaimed the planet. Thus, you

Ever since Oblivion, I have been a huge fan of games put out under Bethesda Softworks' umbrella. Fallout 3 will continue to be one of my favorite games of all time. Needless to say, I was so incredibly excited to hear about Fallout: New Vegas. Thanks to someone who cares very much for me, I was able to play it on launch day and I was immediately hooked. I put in about 32 hours in the first few days and helped my fiance through some levels. I scoffed when he kept hitting strange glitches blaming his lack of skills for his problems... That was until I started hitting the motherload. After about

I am notorious for not playing a game when it's "all the rage." Between my work with PopChix, PMSClan.com, school, reading, the significant other...you get the picture. The unending, ever growing stack of games that I get distracted from and "mean to get back to, really!" but probably never will is testament to the fact that I love gaming - I just don't have a driving need to finish them.

Enter Costume Quest.

Started as one of four projects to keep developer Double Fine busy while they sorted out the ultimately cancelled Brutal Legends sequel and kept to a short development cycle, Costume

Castle Crashers is one of the top user rated and top selling Xbox Live Arcade games so it's no wonder that many companies are trying to mimic that success. There have been many hack and slash, games with adult humor trying to be the new Castle Crashers. Deathspank might be the closest we've gotten so far. It's simple you just run around killing basically everything on a quest for the artifact. In order to get this artifact you have to level by doing side quests. Some of them are pretty average like kill x number of a certain enemy, some however are funny like collecting poop from enemies
