I love to eat. You love to eat. She loves to eat. Amongst all of us, I’m sure we can find plenty of wonderful restaurants out there in the world of NOM to keep our bellies full and happy. My foodie adventures took me to the highly recommend Lynnwood Grill in Raleigh, North Carolina.

For months now, I have been told countless times by my Starbucks baristas that I need to visit Lynnwood Grill. Every Monday night the Starbucks crew visits Lynnwood Grill for Wing Night and they have been telling me how great the food and service is. I finally made up my mind I needed to visit this place soon. Soon came last Saturday later in the afternoon. Jim and I were hungry and our regular haunts just weren't inspiring us to visit them on this beautiful autumn day. I suggested we go to Lynnwood Grill. After some grumbling from Jim about going outside our comfort zone of Cary, we plugged the address into our trusty TomTom and we were off. Lynnwood Grill wasn't as far as we thought and it didn't take long to reach our destination. However, we almost missed the little strip mall area where the restaurant is located. It's a good thing I got new glasses so I could point out the parking lot. Happily, we got to Lynnwood Grill between the lunch and dinner rushes so there was no wait to be seated. Our friendly waiter quickly greeted us and took our drink orders.

The Menu
As I opened my menu, I was impressed with the selection. The first page was filled with appetizers, followed by a whole page of sandwiches. Their other popular items are, of course, the wings, but also pizza, strombolis, and calzones so there was a good amount of choices. To help me make up my mind, I went back to all the recommendations from the lovely barista ladies, Daphne and Stephanie. They told me how wonderful the queso and chips were so I knew I was going to try that. Normally, the Starbucks gang get wings but they also spoke highly of the sandwiches, like the Club and BLT. I was in the mood for a BLT, and Jim ordered boneless wings with regular buffalo sauce.

The Food
Within a few minutes, our waiter brought us a pizza pan filled with tortilla chips and a bowl of queso. It was creamy, hot and delicious. It had a bit of a kick of spiciness to the cheese. I was warned that the queso and chips was good and addicting and kept munching while we waited for our lunches. Upon arrival of our food, I was pleased with the amount of fries and the look of the sandwich. The BLT was on toasted homemade bread so it was cut into perfect triangles. There were perfect amounts of bacon, lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise, which for me is a few pieces of bacon, a piece of lettuce and two tomatoes with a nice spread of the mayonnaise. The bacon was cooked right, not super crunchy or chewy. The fries were large wedges with an herb covering and were good and crispy. Unfortunately, since I ignored the warning about the queso, I only finished my sandwich and a few fries. I didn't fret about it too much since my lunch was only $4.99.

Jim loved his wings. The breading on the wings was done to Jim's preference: firm with a touch of crunchiness and moist chicken inside. There was just the right amount of sauce, and the sauce was not lacking in "buffalo'ness" flavor. He had nothing left on his plate when he was done which is the ultimate seal of approval of Mr. Willis.

There are few more items that have been given thumbs up that I wanted to try. As I mentioned, Monday is Wing Night and customers can get $.35 wings in different flavors: BBQ, Spicy Sweet, Garlic, Habernero, and others. The fried pickle chips are supposed to be excellent although I'm not much of a pickle person. One final item I was hoping to get but couldn't (Darn that queso!) was The Signature 'Nut: a glazed donut grilled and then topped with vanilla ice cream and chocolate. The name makes me giggle and the concept of a hot doughnut with ice cream makes me drool. It is definitely on my list when we visit again.

The Service
We had the ideal waiter. He was friendly, quick, and efficient. He kept our drinks refilled and checked in on us. We didn't have to wait long for our check and receipt after we were done eating, which gets a gold star from Jim.
