I love to eat. You love to eat. She loves to eat. Amongst all of us, I'm sure we can find plenty of wonderful restaurants out there in the world of NOM to keep our bellies full and happy. My foodie adventures took me to one of my new favorite lunch spots, Pepper's Market & Sandwich Shop.

Several months ago, as I was leaving my favorite Starbucks, I noticed a sign in one of the unfinished commercial spaces near the store. The sign read Pepper's Market, Coming Soon. I wondered if it was finally going to be a sandwich place actually worth visiting unlike most of the similar deli type café's I have visited in the area. I didn't hold out much hope. Well, I am happy to say, I was WRONG! I have been visiting Pepper's at least once a week since they opened, and I couldn't be happier having a sandwich for lunch.

The Menu
The menu consists of breakfast items, smoothies, sandwiches, soups, and salads. Breakfast is served all day long so feel free to order off that menu for lunch and dinner. You also have the option of making your own sandwich called the "Pick Four". You can select your choice of bread, meat, cheese, and any of the toppings you desire. I was told if you can fit the sandwich in your hands, they will make it.

The sandwiches also come with a side of your choice: potato salad, coleslaw, pasta salad, green salad, or fresh fruit. With the "Pick Four", the combinations are numerous. They also have daily specials on the week days. The specials come with a sandwich, side, and drink. You can also do the sandwich/soup combo.

In addition, they do wine tastings, sell local products, and sell Boylan soda and various micro-brewery beers in their cooler. They are adding new items to the menu every season, and love feedback and suggestions.

The Food
The bread is local and comes from my favorite bakery, LeFarm Bakery. The shop roasts its own turkey and roast beef in the store. This means the turkey and roast beef are going to taste LIKE turkey and roast beef. As for the sides, I have tried the pasta salad and potato salad. They are both delicious and taste fresh.

I have tried several different sandwiches from the menu, the "Pick Four", and the specials. My first visit I had the daily special, which featured the open-face pot roast sandwich. It was fantastic. The pot roast was lean and tender. It was covered in a tomato-based gravy that was smooth and a beautiful light brown color. This sandwich was very filling and I only was able to eat half, before I was gleefully sated.

For my second visit, I tried the Thanksgiving Turkey sandwich. It has a stuffing bread that is soft and filled with celery, onions, and seasoning. I also discovered the best turkey I've ever had in a sandwich shop. Normally, the only way I will eat a turkey sandwich is at Thanksgiving time, when I make it myself. I was very happy to hear that Pepper's cooks its own turkeys, which allows me to have a turkey sandwich any time I want. The final addition to the sandwich is a cranberry spread both sweet and tart with neither overpowering the overall the fabulous taste of the sandwich.

The next few visits I did the "Pick Four" and my creation consisted of ciabatta roll, turkey, goat cheese, cranberry spread, and spinach. The chef, who I believe is also the co-owner, was surprised and intrigued by my request. He wanted to know when I came back if I enjoyed it. Well, I came back 3 days later for lunch with Jim and ordered it again. The cranberry and goat cheese blend very well with the texture and taste of the turkey. The spinach gives it a nice crunch.

The Service
I am always greeting immediately and now receive the "Welcome back" greeting. Your sandwich is made fresh but they are quick to get you lunch so you have plenty time to enjoy it before heading back to the office. The place's overall friendliness enhances the dining experience. The price of a lunch can run you $6 to $11 but considering the quality of the food and service. I think the price is just right. I base this on the fact that I can spend the same amount in the cafeteria where I work and 90% of the time, the food tastes like it is a week overdue to be thrown out.

If you live or work in the Morrisville area, I highly suggest you try Pepper's Market & Sandwich for breakfast, lunch or dinner.  Make your own or try one of Pepper's inventions. You will be a happy panda.
